There are less than two weeks left ‘til Christmas. If you’re anything like me, you've still got gifts to buy and presents to wrap.

We're trying to take a more environmentally conscious approach to wrapping this year. So, over the next couple of days, I'm going to share some sustainable gift wrap ideas with you.

I’m not gonna lie---I have a lot of wrapping to do and figured blogging about it would help keep me on track!

Today, I have a nearly zero-waste gift wrapping idea for you, involving a reusable bag (which doubles as part of your gift!).

Reusable bags in lieu of gift wrap keep paper out of the trash (many types of gift wrap aren't recyclable) and they have the potential to reduce plastic bag use. So, you're doing the environment a double solid.

How to Wrap A Gift In A Reusable Bag

What You’ll Need

- A reusable bag

- A gift small enough to fit in the reusable bag

- A ribbon (I used raffia paper ribbon, which is both biodegradable and recyclable)

Instructions

1) If your reusable bag has advertising or an undesirable print on the outside, you can turn it inside out.

2) Put the present inside of the bag, pushing it flush against the bottom of the bag.

3) Tuck the handles into the bag.

4) Fold each upper corner of the bag inwards and roll the top of the bag down until it rests on top of the present.

5) Tie your ribbon around the package (just like you would around a regular present) to secure the bag in place.

6) Stick it under the tree.
